JOB OVERVIEW

Julian & Grube is seeking a highly motivated accountant to join our consulting team. J&G specializes exclusively in governmental accounting, serving cities, villages, counties, school districts, community schools, townships, insurance consortiums, libraries, and other local government entities efficiently and cost-effectively. This specialization allows us to provide unparalleled service and expertise to our clients.

The primary focus of the consultant is on preparing financial statements for local governments in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Additional tasks may include Agreed Upon Procedures (AUP) reports, internal auditing, cash reconciliations, and other services specific to governmental entities.

This role involves preparing financial statements for Ohio local governments and may require limited travel within Ohio. J&G offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. Extensive governmental accounting training is provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

• Job Type: Full-time; hybrid schedule (in-office/remote). Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0


• CPA or ability to obtain CPA license preferred


• Strong interpersonal skills


• Leadership ability and self-motivation


• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail


• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines


• Excellent problem-solving skills


• Effective communication and teamwork skills


• Desire to become an expert in governmental accounting


• Proficiency in Excel and Word


• Willingness to travel within Ohio as needed
