Job Description

CACI is looking for experienced, innovative, and motivated Journeyman Advanced Software Developer to support the mission objectives and needs of the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area. The position is contingent upon award of contract. Responsibilities include developing, creating, maintaining, and writing/coding new or modifying existing computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs. The developer will follow software assurance best practices throughout the software lifecycle, be responsible for all aspects of the ship’s technology including performance, cost, and schedule, and work closely with the naval program and other naval activities to perform necessary tasks and submit deliverables. The role involves providing technical engineering knowledge, expertise, and recommendations, leading program briefings, giving work direction, resolving problems, preparing schedules, and setting deadlines to ensure timely completion of work. The candidate will manage a team of software developers supporting ITMSS software capabilities, including development and maintenance of key ITMSS algorithms for crew tablets, testing ITMSS features to meet Navy requirements, translating Navy needs into software requirements, supporting development of inputs for ITMSS software, developing training course content for ITMSS, and supporting development and distribution of weekly reports with findings and recommendations to the Government. Qualifications require a Secret clearance or ability to obtain one, a BA/BS with 10+ years relevant experience in software development or related field, experience leading a software development team and computer-based training, and certifications such as CISSP or CSSLP. Desired skills include strong communication skills, ITMSS software development experience, and experience with digital twinning solutions and shipboard training & modeling and simulation. The position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately but represents positions consistently available at CACI.
