Job Title: EZE After-School Teacher

Team: After-School

Classification: Part-Time

Reports To: Director of After-School Programs

Mission

After-School teachers are responsible for accurately teaching a variety of lessons including Bible, STEAM and IXL to our K-5th grade students each day. This position will be responsible for making class fun, engaging, and applicable to the diverse group of children in our program while encouraging our students to achieve and succeed in their academics.

Requirements

10-20+ hrs/week (starting at $13/hour)

After School Enrichment Program: At least two days Monday - Friday 2-6 p.m.

Position Qualifications 

1 Year commitment 

Must have at least 1 year of experience working with children 

Position Responsibilities

• Study and prepare lessons in approved Ezekiel Ministries children curriculum and write basic lesson plans.

• Commit to making class fun, interactive, and engaging for the children.

• Willing to teach the whole child- making positive impacts spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

• Able to provide a firm, but nurturing class environment in line with class rules i.e. No cell phone/earbud use in class etc.

• Display skills in classroom management and be able to utilize proper discipline and correction when needed.

• Prepare lessons and activities before children arrive to ensure you maximize your given classroom time.

• Utilize IXL as a tool to appropriately place children in their respective reading and math levels. 

• Coordinate with volunteers to organize small reading groups and breakouts to ensure that each child receives quality help in their area of academic struggle.

• Be responsible for the general condition of the classroom, not leaving trash on the floor, tables, or seats, and making sure all activities promote good stewardship of what we have been given.

• Develop a strong rapport with students, families, and Ezekiel team members

• Work closely with the site director to ensure a high level of effectiveness, integrity, and excellence in the day to day work of a Ezekiel Ministries after school teacher.

• Provide a proper inventory of supplies each week.
