Looking for a bartender to join our staff that's either an expert mixologist or just cares about the details of what makes a cocktail great. We're aiming for this person to start at the end of August.

What is Penstemon?

It’s a unique opportunity to be part of something different in Omaha. It’s an exclusively outdoor tea hangout & bar set behind a 100 year old house in the historic neighborhood of Dundee - with a small performance stage, a backyard garden, and really good drinks built for the season >> we hold our menu to a high standard but make it very approachable and laid back for the people that come.

What we’re looking for:

• We’re looking for someone that’s been a bartender and gets excited about building out a menu that a cocktail geek would love. You don’t have to be on expert but you should be super motivated to learn more and be well on your way. We want to up there as one of the best cocktail bars in the city which means you understand acids, ice, and the difference between the three St George Gins. We’re looking for someone with the drive to become an expert/better here
• You have to be kind and open-minded - great with customers of all shapes of personality

The Role: As a bartender at Penstemon, you are dependable and care about the experience. You will be invited to collaborate on the cocktail menu and rotating it every season throughout the year. Opening and closing procedures, prepwork for citrus, syrups, and more. Making sure the experience of patrons is up to the standards of Pentstemon’s hosting standards. You help make the bar go.

Our vision for the bar program:

• Our approach to cocktails will be a “less is more” mentality where we lean on limited menu of A+ options that rotate and leave plenty of room for the staff to get creative.
• We’ll have approachable education and mixology programs onsite & if you become one of our most loyal employees, educational trips around cocktails are probably in your future
• We have the most climate-friendly wine list in the city and have a full-time partner helping us find more wines that live up to our quality and climate standards.
• We’re going to lean into our access to tea to specialize in novel tea syrups
• We’re outdoors and we don’t shy away from that - we embrace the elements and you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate on menus that literally pair with the weather
• We’re offering a range of “nighttime” teas and unique NA beverages that aren’t currently served here in Omaha
