Job Description

Seeking candidates currently living in and around Washington DC. The client will hire over phone and Skype, but local candidates are preferred!

Essential Job Functions:

• Select appropriate data types and sizes for new fields added to the system data model.
• Document data model enhancements in standard documents.
• Develop data mappings for reports, correlating data elements to tables/fields in the physical data model.
• Create high-level process models (activity hierarchy diagrams, data flow diagrams, workflow diagrams, system interface diagrams) to represent business processes.
• Educational requirement: 4-year technical degree, preferably in Math, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on data modeling experience for relational databases, including logical and physical data models, normalization, forward and reverse engineering techniques.
• Experience with ERWIN (versions 3.5 and 4.1) for at least 3 years.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Familiarity with Oracle 8.x/9.x database constructs and PL/SQL.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills/Abilities:

Solutions Architecting and Data Modeling (not required but a plus).
