ERG is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to independently develop and lead projects focused on information extraction from documents. This data scientist will be working within the newly established Product Impact group helping ERG build a key database of environmental product declarations and product category rules.

• Lead the development and implementation of data extraction solutions from various document types
• Design, develop, and maintain algorithms and models for information extraction
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of extracted data
• Prepare technical design documents and specifications
• Conduct technical reviews of data extraction solutions created by others to ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations, as well as end-user requirements
• Support the data extraction process from concept through delivery of the completed solution
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, both internal and external, and the development team (e.g., engineering department, IT department)

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data science is required; 5+ years is preferred
• At least three years of experience with information extraction from documents
• Experience with machine learning and generative AI models and APIs
• Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience working with lifecycle assessment, greenhouse gas emissions data and/or supply chain platforms is a plus
• Ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment

$140,000 - $160,000 a year

ERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more. The salary range for all positions depends on the years and type of experience.
