Family Law Paralegal

What you should know: Mulberry has partnered with a local law firm in SW Portland to hire a temporary Paralegal. You will support their family law team of attorneys. The team is professional, collaborative, and values steady, detail-oriented support. Paralegals here are trusted partners—relied on to manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

A day in the life:

• Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, uniform support declarations, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
• Organize and manage electronic discovery processes including document collection, indexing, and summarizing responses.
• Upload and download e-discovery using ShareFile and DropBox.
• Prepare case files and exhibit binders for hearings, mediations, and trials, ensuring all supporting documents are accurate and complete.
• Maintain close communication with clients to gather information, provide updates, and assist with document completion.
• File legal documents with courts via e-filing systems and ensure proper service to all parties.
• Manage confidential client information with discretion and comply with legal and ethical obligations.
• Monitor and maintain case files, both physical and electronic, to ensure organization and accessibility.
• Prepare asset and liability statements on Excel.
• Prepare exhibits for trial including summaries of data.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

• Bachelor’s degree desired
• 3+ years of experience as a paralegal
• Experience in Oregon family law preferred
• Knowledge of Oregon Civil Procedure
• Ability to work with various personality types, and adaptability
• Must be highly organized, able to work independently, multi-task, prioritize, and be a strong communicator

Compensation and Benefits : $35-$40/HR with access to benefits via Mulberry’s employer of record partner.
