The Lab Assistant at Professional Arts Specialty Pharmacy plays a vital role in supporting daily operations in the non-sterile compounding lab. This position involves assisting lab compounding technicians and pharmacists with various tasks to ensure smooth lab operations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Learn and adhere to pharmacy and lab policies, procedures, regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Follow best practices for lab operations and maintain compliance with all relevant guidelines.
• Ensure the lab environment is clean and organized.
• Perform cleaning duties including washing dishes, loading/unloading the dishwasher, storing clean dishes, wiping down handwashing stations, emptying garbage, and mopping as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab workspace in accordance with quality management systems.

• Process expired, damaged, or other items designated for destruction, and facilitate annual controlled inventory.
• Prepare and manage plastic packaging containers using compressed air.
• Fold lab towels and maintain adequate stock of supplies and safety gear.
• Complete various tasks as assigned by lab pharmacists or supervisors to support lab operations.

• Ensure efficient handling and storage of lab materials.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects up to 25 lbs.
• Proficient in using hands for various functions within the lab environment.
