Job Title: Manufacturing Safety Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Summary

We seek a proactive and experienced Manufacturing Safety Manager to join our Los Angeles, CA team. This role is critical in developing and maintaining a comprehensive safety program for our HVAC manufacturing operations. You will ensure full compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and cultivate a strong workplace safety culture across all departments. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage safety policies and procedures by OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses to identify and address potential hazards proactively.
  • Lead and deliver safety training programs on best practices, emergency response, and regulatory compliance for staff at all levels.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and drive corrective/preventative actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to inspections, incident reporting, compliance, and employee training.
  • Partner with production leadership to integrate safety best practices into daily operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all safety-related matters and regulatory updates impacting the facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of safety management experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (HVAC experience preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and manufacturing safety procedures.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to influence and train employees at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess safety risks and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety compliance software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) certification.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices applied to safety initiatives.
  • Experience handling workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.

Work Environment

  • Based in Los Angeles, CA, within a high-paced HVAC manufacturing facility.
  • Frequent presence on the production floor for safety walk-throughs, training, and compliance reviews.
  • Occasional travel for training, certifications, or industry events may be required.
