Position Summary: The Nutley Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Marketing Teacher to serve as a leave replacement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, business, or related fields and a passion for helping students develop real-world career skills. This teacher will deliver engaging instruction aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) frameworks.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing lessons in marketing, business fundamentals, entrepreneurship, digital media marketing, and related subjects. The teacher will assess student progress, incorporate project-based learning, integrate current industry trends, and foster 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Additional duties include maintaining accurate records, communicating with parents and guardians, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in school-based professional responsibilities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with extensive knowledge of content area, resources and state of the art practices. Appropriate teaching certificate - New JerseyTeacher of Marketing, Teacher of Business, or related CTE certification required or eligible.
Essential Duties: The Marketing Teacher has the duties and responsibilities commonly associated with this position, including (but not limited to) the following, which are performed directly or through the proper delegation of authority, within the framework of the general laws of New Jersey, the regulations of the NJ State Department of Education, the policies and rules of the Nutley School District, and the terms of the contract with the Nutley Education Association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develops and administers marketing education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Integrate real-world applications, current industry trends, and project-based learning into daily instruction.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Utilize technology, digital media tools, and learning management systems to enhance instruction.
- Prepares appropriate instructional aids and display materials to enhance learning.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinates with other professional staff members and participates in faculty and department meetings as well as professional development.
General Duties and Responsibilities: - Uphold and enforce school, administrative, board and state rules, regulations and policies.
- Implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Communicate with parents and school personnel as necessary to discuss pupil progress under direction of the building principal.
- Maintain required records, completes reports, and handles other routine assignments in an appropriate and punctual manner.
- Maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive school and classroom environment.
- Develop lesson plans.
- Maintain professional development through participation in such activities as in-service education.
- Maintain a safe school environment.
- Identify pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities assigned by the building principal, supervisor or central office administrators.
Evaluation of Performance : Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the New Jersey Administrative Code and Board of Education Policy.
Additional Responsibilities :
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal or superintendent may assign or delegate.
