Job Description
PLASTIC INJECTION MOLD OPERATOR - 2nd SHIFT
$18.50/hour
Must be able to train on 1st shift at regular day rate of $16, then move to 2nd shift with $2.50 shift differential at $18.50/hour
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
Operate injection molding machines to produce ceramic cores. Ensure products meet all quality specifications and are made according to the latest standard operating procedure.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Follow documented job specific work instructions.
Ensure correct procedure is pulled up on production system screen while performing injection operation.
Maintain mix level in hopper, prepare die for injection, inject, remove part.
Visually inspect parts and identify defects.
Remove die line from parts.
Load parts into containers (saggers) according to procedure.
Complete data input to the production system using a handheld scanner.
Maintain required documentation and paperwork.
Produce quality ceramic cores, meeting production goals and quality requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality inspectors and fellow operators.
Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 6S activity.
Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations.
Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills, Knowledge Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Good communication skills
Use of precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent attendance & dependability a must
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift (plus overtime, when required)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Working in a manufacturing environment
