SBA Lender

Summary:

The SBA/Commercial Lender is responsible for the SBA and commercial lending for Regent

Bank. Lending activities include loan origination, loan underwriting, loan servicing, portfolio

management and reporting. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with

SBA/Commercial and organizational lending policies and procedures to meet organizational

goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Acquisition, expansion and retention of SBA/Commercial relationships using a proactive strategy.
• Analyze credit history of applicants and determines loan repayment capabilities.
• Facilitating/Managing the sales of SBA loans on the secondary market.
• Approve loans for eligibility with government requirements.
• Assist loan operations and crediting in maintaining an effective loan process for government loans.
• Meet with customers to negotiate credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
• Manage the servicing of government loan’s in compliance with the Regent Bank’s lending policies and procedures and program requirements.
• Maintain a great working relationship with the SBA and other government loan agency personnel in our markets.
• Perform periodic review of close loan files for program compliance.
• Review, approval, and dispositions of commercial overdrats.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education And/Or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business-related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of Five (5) years of combined SBA and commercial loan experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze credit
• Knowledge of Zoom or Webex to setup meetings
• Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure of deadlines
• All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background, credit, and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Sitting for long periods of time.

Working Conditions:

General comfortable environment. Noise, heat, dust and other problems are minimal.

Unpredictable hours, sometimes exceedingly long in order to correct mistakes whether or not

related to computer failure or unusually heavy client traffic. Exposed to a potentially hazardous

condition, i.e. robbery. All employees are required to maintain a neat and safe work area.
