Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available to support a K-12 elementary student in a school setting from August 7, 2025, through May 20, 2025. This contract role involves working 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

• Provide live sign language interpretation to facilitate munication between student, teachers, and peers throughout the school day.
• Acpany the student to all activities and classes, ensuring consistent access to instruction and social interaction.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to enable smooth munication and understanding.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold student privacy in pliance with school policies and regulations.
• Participate in meetings related to the student's academic and social progress as needed.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with excellent interpretation skills.
• Experience working directly with K-12 students in educational environments preferred.
• Ability to travel with the student throughout the school day.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families.

Location: Jarratt, VA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am 3:30 pm
