Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher position is available near Tecumseh, MI, within a middle school setting that serves students from 4th through 8th grade. This role is ideal for educators with expertise in Autism or Cognitive Impairment (CI) seeking to make a meaningful impact over the next school year, from approximately August 18, 2025, to June 12, 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to students with mild to moderate special education needs.
• Managing a caseload of 11 students, fostering their academic and social development.
• Collaborating closely with school staff, families, and support personnel to create effective individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports emotional well-being.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Certification with Autism or CI endorsement.
• Proven experience working directly with students who have Autism or cognitive impairments.
• Strong emotional intelligence to understand and respond to unique student needs.
• Excellent munication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Work schedule and location:

• Position requires in-person attendance during regular school hours.
• Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., with an expected arrival 10 minutes early and departure 10 minutes after the end time.
• Approximately 35 hours per week.
• Location is near Tecumseh, MI, serving the middle school student population.
