Global Supply Chain Supervisor

The Supervisor, Global Supply Chain role at Lonza AG is an outstanding opportunity to lead and optimize our world-class supply chain operations! Located in Greenwood, SC, USA, this position is at the heart of our ambitious and proven product management team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring flawless execution of supply chain activities, driving efficiency and compliance in international logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate international shipping operations, leading all aspects of freight movement, including air, sea, and land transportation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to import/export regulations, free trade agreements, Incoterms, and other relevant international trade laws.
  • Manage import/export documentation, maintain communication channels with collaborators, and handle relationships with carriers.
  • Develop strategies to minimize shipping costs and improve efficiency in international logistics processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the international shipping process.
  • Supervise and mentor global supply chain staff, ensuring their training and development.
  • Keep an eye on important metrics for the global supply chain and make improvements.
  • Coordinate with international customer service, suppliers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Implement process improvements to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage transportation and distribution logistics.
  • Analyze supply chain data and generate performance reports.
  • Train and mentor supply chain staff.
  • Resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or quality.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key collaborators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in global logistics and international documentation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Diligent with strong organizational skills.
  • Customs Compliance knowledge desired.
