Job Details

• Travel OR RN Circulator position at Carlsbad Medical Center.
• Start date: ASAP.
• Experience with general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endocrine, and trauma required.
• Adult and pediatric experience required.
• Operating Room Nurse role involves critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in patient care in the operating room.
• Works with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other personnel to provide patient care according to State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, regulatory standards, physician orders, hospital and surgical department policies and procedures.
• Responsibilities include ensuring supplies, timeliness of cases, communication with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases, and supervision of personnel delivering patient care.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.

Schedule Information

• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
• 5x8 hour shifts per week.
• Call required: minimum 1 weekday per week and weekend rotation.
• On-call shifts Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM.

Unit Specific Information

• Operating Room unit with 6 operating rooms.
• Role involves working in the surgical department and assisting in various surgical specialties including general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endocrine, and trauma.

Additional Details

• Facility size: 99 beds.
• Number of beds in unit: 6 operating rooms.
• Approximately 250 procedures per month.
• Patient ratio: 1:14.
