Birmingham, AL | Full-time | Land Surveying | 1 Position Available

Sain Associates is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Survey Technician to lead a field land surveying team. This position plays a key role in managing daily field operations, ensuring the accuracy and quality of survey data, and maintaining strong communication with project managers. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively, as this position functions primarily a one-man crew.

Candidates will be responsible for:

• Conducting boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, Right-of-Way, and construction staking surveys
• Operating and maintaining Trimble GPS receivers, robotic total stations, and data collectors
• Complying with company procedures and safety protocols
• Interpreting plans, plats, maps, and deeds to perform accurate field surveys
• Completing surveys in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintaining detailed and organized field notes
• Keeping the survey vehicle clean and orderly

Must Haves

• 5+ years of experience in Land Surveying, with at least two years of experience managing a crew
• Proficiency in data collection software with GPS and Robotic Total Stations
• Strong understanding of survey principles and techniques
• Problem solving and attention to detail
• Great communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
• Geomatics degree (preferred but not required) or the ability to earn a degree
• Candidates must be able to lift 60 lbs., move through rough terrain, and to pass a drug test to work in this safety sensitive job
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license
